Jewels (When He Cometh)

By: William O. Cushing, 1856. Public Domain. Adaptation and fourth verse: Paige Givens, 2015

When He cometh, when He cometh
To make up His jewels,
All His jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

Refrain

Like the stars of the morning,
His brightness adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
Bright gems for His crown.

Little children, little children,
Who love their Redeemer,
Are the jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

 Refrain

He will gather, He will gather
The gems for His kingdom;
All the pure ones, all the bright ones,
His loved and His own.

All the broken, all the ruined

Who think they won’t glisten;

He will clean them, He will make them

His loved and His own.

You are not too broken, too ruined to be one of His own. He will make you shine brighter than the sun! He loves you and calls you His own.
